Turn off for display all contents in the directory.

EXTENSIONS: 

Uncheck for hide file by extension

Edit:

add the custom file type for displaying it by default on the "Models" tab.

Replace the selected geometry

Save Selected objects to file.

Replace the selected geometry with selected file in the list.
After merging all your options for merge will be applied.
Opens the "Replace Object" dialog.

Replace Selection with Picked Object

Replace selection in the scene with another object from scene.
Opens the "Replace Object" dialog.

Save Selected objects to file.
